It provides that mortgages on real estáte shall not be assessed to the inortgagee. The remainder of the value of the real estáte is to bo assessed to the party in possession, or owner. The receiptofthe tax collector is to be taken as a legal payment in extinguishment of so inuch of the amount due on the inortgage as is covered by the taxes. - Membersof the bar of Monroecounty unite in a memorial protesting against the proposition before the legialature to construct n new judicial circuit embracing the oounties of Monroe, Washtenaw and Livingston, but, for the purpose of relieving the j udges of the first and f ourtb. judicial district8 of too severe labors, favor a división of the circuits, by putting Monroe and Lenawee into a new circuit leaving Washtenaw and Iugham as the 4th circuit, and Hillsdale, with Jackson county attached as the first circuit.
