March 4. - The Senate pasecd the followin bilis, none of which have yet passed th Houhe: For the prevention of loot-rot i sheep: to confer certairr powers on manufac turing companies; for the incorporation o Centrevülejto prohibit the catching of specklec trout in the waters in Oceana county; t amend Bections 1044, etc. Compiled Laws rclative to the exeoution of dee is by the Au ditor General; to more fully define the power and duties of prosecuting attorneys ; to amen Bections 599, 600 and 601, Compiled Laws, rela tive to notaries public ; to amend the act pro viding for the laying out of public roads. The House passed the following: Hous bill amending chapter 25, Compiled Laws, by adding two new sectionB relating to offensiv trades; joint resolution asking Congress t deepen the St. Mary's Biver; joint resolution aaking Congress to improve the harbor at th mouth of the Kalamazoo Biver ; Senate bil making appropriations for the Normal School House bill relative to duties of health officers Houge bill allowing unknown heirs to be mad defendantB in chancery proceedings; Senat bill amending Laws of 1875 so as to authoriz the use of petroleum in lighting railroad cars March 5. - The Senate passed the following of which the first four had already passed the House: Incorporating Sebewaing; constitut ing Ithaca an election ward; authorizing the surveying and establishing of Bection corner of unsurvey ed lands ; for the relief of the Chi cago and Lake Hurón Bailroad; imniediate ef f ent : to promote the extensión of the Menomi nee Biver Bailroad ; amending act 106, laws o 1875, relating to schools ; for the publication of a legislative manual; amending Bection 7,435, etc, relating to salaries of judges of probate. In the House the bill to amend section 6093, Compiled Laws, relative to trials in issues of f act, was reported favorably by the judiciary committee, the rules were suspended and the bill passed. The bill to reincorpórate the village of Memphis was passed under suspension of the rules; also House bill 347, to organize the county of Crawford; also substitute for House bill incorporating the village of Unionville, Tuscola county. March 8. - In the Senate a number of petitions were present, and a resolution was passed inviting President Angelí to address the Legislature, on some evening to be nxed in the future, upon the relation of the University to the State. No bilis were passed. The House passed only one bill, amending section 1002, Compiled Lawa, relativeto the assessment of taxes. March 11. - Both Houses met Monday evening, but transacted no business. To-day the Senate passed the following: To provide for the payment of insurance to mortgagees'in certain cases; to make an appropriation for thepurchase of books for the State Library; joint resolution asking Congreas for the improvement of St. Mary's Biver; to amend the charter of Cassopolis. Of these the first and last have not yet passed the House. The House passed the following, both of which have passed the Senate: ManuBcript bill, to legalize the issue of certain bonds in Midland county for building a court house; ;o amend certain sectionB of the Compiled Laws in reference to the examination of deeds ay the auditor general. The House concurrcd in the Senate amendments to the bill ineorporating Hibernian soeieties so as to make the law general.
