Aricultural College; amending section 7,478, Compiled Laws, concerniiig fees of offtcorfl in criminal cases; appropriating swamp lands to drain Ganges, Casco and Oiyde, Allegan county. The House passed the foüowing, the lirst three having passed the Senate; to amend the charter of Eay City; to amena the act defining the powerfl and duties of unincorporated villages; to amend sections 599, G00 and 601, relative to the appointment of notaries public; to make an appropriation for the Sta. e lteform School; to amend section 4,254, Compiled Lawa, relative to recording deeds, mortgages, etc. April 18. - The Senate passed the following, all except the firat having pasaed the House Uelating to damage for accidenta on defective streets, bridges, culverts, etc; to amend the charters of Coldwater and Fremont; to pro vide for the colleetion and compilation of the Btatistics of municipal indebteduces; for transferring certain unexpended appropri ations of the State Prson; to provide a punishment for slander; to amend section 6100, Compiled ijawB, relative to levy and execution on unharvested crops; t amend the act for the appointment of a crier-to the Supreme Court; to amend the act for the appointment of a railroad commissioner. The HouBe passed the following, of which the two ftrst have passed the Henate; amending,flection 2 and repeal section 7 of the act establishing the Detroit House of Correction; amendiug section 5, act 166, of 1875, in reference to railroad aid by rnuncipalitiesj amending act 88, laws of 1873 , in reference to boarda of supervisors; authorizing the Ladies' Library Association of Kalamazoo to hold $30,000 worth of propert.y in addition to its books; amending section 12, artiele 4, act 198, relatting to railroads; amending section 5967, Compiled Laws, relating to witnesses; amending eection 13, artiele 2, act 198, of 1873 relatin? to railroads. April 22. - The Senate passed the following: Senate bil! amending laws of 1877 relating to teachers' institute; House bill authorizing Orange, Ionia county, to audit and allow the claim of Charles Matthews; House joint iesolution authorizing a patent to H. Patten for lands in Mecosta county. In the House, all after the enacting clause was stricken out of the following bilis: House bilí to regúlate the business of tire insurance; House bilí to repeal the existing drain laws. Several bilis were agreed to, including House bill relative to the keeping of public accounts in Wayne county.
