Sanford, of the Lansing Journal is speuding commenoemont week in the city. -Miss Clara, daughter of Sheriff Case visited relativos and friends in Manchester last week. - Miss Mamie Buckley and Miss Wiley of Detroit ere guests of Mr. and I Mrs. Philip Bach. - Walter P. Butler, law class of '79 now of New York city is gpending a few days in tuis city. - E. Gauntlett of Saline, attended the re-union of the Fourth Michigan Infantry at Monroe, on Prirtay. - Albert F. Palmer, superintendent of schools of one of Kansas' counties, visited the horaesteadin Bridgewater, last week. - Mrs. ET. H. Pierce of this city read a poem entitled " The brava pioneer" at a meeting of pioneera in Jackson last week. I - Among other great and good men of Ypsilanti, that went over to Orchard Lake to greet Gen. Sfaerman, was pension agent Post. - Mrs. Mary Scott, and Misses Bess and Nallie Scott, daughter3 of Judge Soott of Toledo are guests of Mru. Jewell of the Cook House. -Judge of Probate Harriman will leave the city Aug. lst., to be absent during the month, upon hisannual visit to the horaestead in Verraont. -Miss Eva Sargent has declined the position in the Ypsilanti publio school I tendered her by the School Board, and will go to Minnesota, to teaeh at an advanced salary.
