Monday, July 28. Court re-convened as per adjournment. In the case of the People vs. Kobert Beeler, charged with an "affray" at Saline, July 4, prísoner plead not sfuilty and entered recognizance in $250. John Lawson plead not guilty to the charge of assault with intent to rnpe upon Mary Reveis of Saleiu. Reinanded to jail. Case of Thcmas Poole vs. O. W. Holt, appealed to circuit court. Subinitted to court. In case of Robert Ferguson vs. Joseph Ftcer, petition presented for chango of administrator as plaintiff, Ferguson being deceased. Final judgment of $10 and costs entered for plaintiff in case of McCafferty vs. Booth. Resolutions adopted by bar over death of Ezra C. Seaman, lately deceased, were ordered spread upon minutes of court. Tuesday, July 29. Day consumed in argument by Judge Douglas petitioning foran order to compel P. B. Rose tó show cause why he should not be punished for coutempt; by Messrs. Cramer and Kinne for new trial in case of Webb, assignee of Truraan Carpenter vs. J. S. Case, Sheriff, Messrs. Sawyer & Knowlton for defense. WEDNESDAY, July 30. Joseph H. Durand and others, vs. Wilson West. Jury trial. An aotion brought to recover pay for a reaper. Lpfense - none accepted, in that of being tiken on trial and failing to suit. D. B Taylor and W. E. Depew, of counsel for plaintiff; Geo. W. Turn Buil and R. E. FrazHr, ot' counsel for defense. Litigan s are Chelseans. TllURSDAY, July 31. The above caso on. Court charged jury after dinner. Jury drawn for trial in case of Charles D. Coleman, vs. Win. . Groves. This case waB tried in January term. Judge Huntington set aside verdict of jury, on the ground that it was contrary to law and evidence. The case arose out of the Thayer vs. Morgan case. It is brought to recover possession of real estafe, eoinprising city of Ann Arbor lots which wer deeded by Thayer to Coleman in paymeut of legal services. Jamen McMahon for plaintiff ; E. D.
