Chelsea, Jnly 30. - The Cornet Band of this place has a new $500 uniform. - The flouring ïnill here is beïng thoroughly repaired for work as soon as the new erop begins to come forward. - Eev. Dr. Holmes addressed the Reform Club Sunday night and made a masterly argument for legal prohibition with moral suasion. - O. W. Mooie, a barber here, was beaten in a foot race on Monday at Dexter 10 feet in 100 yards by Swarthout the operator at Dexter. - Richard Conaty, Sen., an old resident of this place, died very suddeuly last Saturday uight and was buried on Monday. He was about 70 years old and has been out of health for several years. - Barnum Arnold, an old resident of this village, died suddenly last Friday of heart discaso and was buried from the famiiy residence on Sunday. He was 88 years old and leaves many mournng friends. - Chelsea is growing so rapidly that t has to enlarge its school building again, and will do so with a wood building tor the primary, the ground and structure to cost $800. A bond for the amount is to be issued and is taken at 4 per cent. - ïlirpe burglais entered the post office here last Monday night and gtole $1.50 out of a money drawer and started to drill into the safo when they were di-scovered by the night watch. They ran exchanging shots with the night watch as they went, and no clue has )een got of them sinoe. - Edward Gardner, a young well-too farmer living three miles east of here, ung himself last Thursday to a rafter in tho wheat mow of his barn. He was about 30 years oíd, unmarried, and bis sister kept house for him. Heleft nothing to indícate why he coinmitted the rash act and no one knows any reason but temporary insanity caused possibly by over work.
