(JHELSEA, Oct. lst. - Apples arenow coming to this market and bring$l, per barrel for the fruit. - Rev. Mr. Boyden gave an excellent discourse to the Reform club here last Sunday night. - Thomas Guthrie has bought a farm in Kalamazoo County and will remove there in a few days. - Michael Wackenhut was married yesterday at the residence of his father Miss Girbach, daughter of Fred Girbach of this place. - The village marshal took a tramp to the Ionia house of correction on Monday by order of Esquire Noyes for 90 days. This will probably dry up the tramp business the soonest of anything. -Chas. W. Vogel took unto himself a wife last week whose home was at Waterloo and whose name was too crooked and dutchy to attempt to give. They appear to enjoy honeymoon very inuch. - The Catholic fair closed last Friday night and was a success realizing over $600. The gold headed cane voted on between Frank Stoffan and John Conlan raised f217, and feil to Mr. Staffan by a 8mall majority. John Clark got ahandsome bed room set and F. D. Cumings a large armed chair. The attendauce was large and everything passed off quietly.
