An Anti-slavery meeting was held at VVoodstock Instituí e on the 19th ofSep tember 1846, according toa previousno tice. Committee of arrangemcnts for the day. Woodstock - Samuel Dean Eso.., G McDermid. Rollin - Thomas brownell, Dr. R E. Higgins. HlLLSDALE COUNTT ReV. AaRON DoOLITTLE, ROSWELL WoOD, VV. W Jackson Esq., Etiiel Jvdd. Cambridge - Fitch Rud Esq., War REN GlLBERT.The Meeting convenod at 11 o'clock, the Rev. Mr. Doolittle was called to the chair, and W. D. Moor was chosen Secretary. The meeting was opened by a prayer fr om the Rev. Mr. Crane. Rev. Mr. Lockwood, from Clinton, eloquently addressed the audience for an hour and a half on tlie evib of American Slavery. - Also some appropriate remar ks from Rev Mr. Crane, and a song from Mr. Bibb. At 2 o'clock, a bountiful and e.xcellen free dinner was served up in the grov by our Antislavery Ladies. Mr. Treac well, after dinner, opened the meetn confining his remarks in support of th Political Liberty party. Tliere was as supposcd 500 present - Mr. Bibb madeth closing remarles, which met with the usuaapplausc. The congregation departcd, appeariiio to bo sanguine in their untiring efibrts and resolved to persevere, and several o the audience spoke out that they couk not support the Whigs nor the Demo crats any more, and they should suppo) the Liberty party and nevcr give thei support for a slaveholder. The Committee we re very muoh picas ed in seeing the progress of the Wooc stock Institute. Their large building i nearly ready to be raised, and they ar making all possible haste to get the buik ing ready for winter school.
