Robert LaCross, 50 years old, of 2404 Dexter Ave., operator of the Evergreen tavern at the same address, died early this morning in University hospital after a lingering illness.
He was born Oct. 18, 1888, in Munising and came to Ann Arbor in 1925, from Lapeer. He had been employed by the University mail department for the last 14 years. He was a member of the Canadian army during the World war. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Lapeer and the Moose lodge in Ann Arbor.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Deverell LaCross, to whom he was married June 16, 1914, in Montreal.
Funeral services will be held at 4 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the Muehlig chapel with Rev. Henry Lewis officiating. The body will be cremated. Friends may call at the chapel.
