Shoe Repair Shop’s Co-Owner Succumbs

Jess Yeoman Brown, 50, co-owner and operator of the College Shoe Repair Shop, 607 E. William St., died early this morning at University Hospital after a long illness. He lived at 415 W. Madison St.
He had been associated with his father, Merton Brown, in the shoe repair business since 1935.
Born Jan. 15, 1902, in Peru, Ind., he was a son of Merton and Daisy Yeoman Brown. He attended the University School of Pharmacy.
He was married on Oct. 18, 1924, to Eleanor Howley of Ann Arbor, who survives.
Mr. Brown was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge.
Also surviving are one son, Pvt. J. William Brown, with the Army in Germany; two daughters, Lou Ann and Betty, both at home; his parents; four sisters, Mrs. James Clark and Mrs. George Hammond, both of Detroit, Mrs. Blaine Moody of Chicago and Mrs. Richard Howell of Milwaukee, Wis.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o’clock Friday morning at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock Thursday night.
