It is but fair to state that Mr. Giddings denies that he holds that it is unconstitutional to refuse to vote for a slaveholder bccause he is a slaveholder, or that he has ever advanced such an idea. Very well,if he is ashamedof the foolish notion, that's enough. Buthe still persists in defending the propriety of voting for a Slaveholder under some circumstances. (tPersons coming into the village from the country cannot spend a leisure half hour more pleasantly than at Perry's Bookstore.
