Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jewett Taft, 93, who died yesterday at her home, 431 Thompson St., will be held at 2 o'clock Friday at the Dolph Funeral Home, with Dr. Leonard Parr of the First Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Taft, for whom the Mary J. Taft group of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was named, was a resident of Ann Arbor for 47 years, moving here from Iowa in 1900. She was president of the local WCTU for more than 30 years, but had retired eight years ago. At the time of her death she was serving as president of the Grandmothers Club.
Surviving are two sons, A. J. Taft and H. C. Taft, lawyers in Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mary L. Taft of Evanston, Ill.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
