Charles Austin
BRIGHTON—Charles Austin, 71, of 132 Brighton Lake Rd., died this morning at McPherson Memorial Hospital in Howell following a short illness.
Operator of a shoe repair shop, he had lived here for more than 40 years. The son of Charles and Elizabeth Burgess Austin, he was born Oct. 20, 1877 at Caro. In March, 1899, he married Jennie B. Marlette and a few years later they moved to Brighton.
He is survived by his wife. His only daughter, Alma, died 30 years ago.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
