Age 78 passed away yesterday. Born August 24, 1889 in Dexter Township, the son of Emerson and Ellen Howard, he had been a life-long resident of the Dexter area. Mr. Howard was a member of the Dexter American Legion Post No. 557, the World War I Barracks of Ann Arbor and was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Helen) Farrell of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Allen (Kathleen) Bowen of Gregory and Mrs. Leonard (Marian) Latimer of Pinckney; three brothers, Roy, Ralph and Paul, all of Dexter; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; one sister; and six brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Hosmer Funeral Home, Dexter, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 Monday evening. Graveside services will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dexter under the auspices of the American Legion Post No. 557. Friends may call at the funeral home.
