City Woman Dies After Long Illness
Volia P. Richardson, 45, died this morning at her home, 1304 Geddes Ave., after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 15, 1914, in Sweet Springs, Mo., a daughter of William and Anna Richardson. She lived in Missouri until 1938 at which time her family moved to Ann Arbor. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former member of the Women of the Moose Lodge.
For 17 years she was employed at the Caravan Shop in the Nickels Arcade.
Survivors include her mother; two brothers, Vincel Richardson and Alvin Richardson, all of the Geddes Ave. address; a sister, Mrs. Eva Hariman of Beverly, Mass., and a niece, Linda Hariman of Beverly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home. The Rev. Chester Loucks will officiate. Burial will be made in Washtenong Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home.
