H. C. Haiar

Funeral services for Herbert C. Haiar, 33, of 115 N. Dixboro Rd., who was killed Saturday night in an automobile accident on Geddes Rd. near Le Forge Rd., will be held at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning in St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Mr. Haiar was born Jan. 27, 1916, in Farmer, S. D., a son of Nicholas and Mary Smith Haiar, and came to Ann Arbor 12 years ago. For eight years he had been employed on the Radrick Farms, Geddes Rd. He was married Feb. 22, 1938, to Ruth Boyke of Ann Arbor and was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Donald, 9, Melvin, 8, and Gerald, 27 months; and two daughters, Marlene, 5, and Edith, 4, all living at home; his mother, Mrs. Mary Haiar of Algona, Wash.; four brothers, Earl Haiar of Kansas, Francis, Floyd and Eugene Haiar, of Algona; two sisters, Mrs. Alphons Thelan of Dexter and Mrs. Iner Sorenson of Aberdeen, Wash.

The Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock tomorrow night at the Muehlig Chapel. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel.
