Month's Illness Fatal To Ann Arbor Woman
Mrs. Lois E. LeClaire, 53, of 1231 Olivia Ave. died at University Hospital yesterday morning after an illness of about one month. She was the mother of two of Ann Arbor's most prominent men golfers.
Mrs. LeClaire was born Nov. 28, 1898, in Iron River, Mich., and lived there for a short time before moving to Gaastra, Mich., with her parents. She was married to Clarence J. LeClaire on April 5, 1920 at Gaastra. He survives. The couple moved to Ishpeming in 1923 and to Ann Arbor in 1947.
Mrs. LeClaire worked at University Hospital for three years as a nurse's aid and at the State Farm Mutual Insurance Co., for the past year.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Keith an Lowell, both of Ann Arbor, and Ralph of Ishpeming; and a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Hayden, jr., of Taconite, Minn.
Also surviving are a brother, Clarence Thompson of Butte, Mont.; and her stepfather, August Thomas of Gaastra.
The body was taken to Ishpeming, where funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon. Burial will be made at Ishpeming. Arrangements were handled by the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home.
