-The Bardstown (Ky.) Gazette says, thai " during the last threeor four months " it hns hnr " to chronicle some half a dozen cases o conflict ond deafh, ns occurring in our Slote, sometimes under the head of murder, sometimes as manslaughier, anc ngain as justifiable homicide, according pretty much to the character and wealth of the accused, and the vic:im." It relates another horrible trngedy in the neighborhood of Bardstovvn. A dispute aróse between Judge Brown,of a Southern district, and Greenbury Gaither, forncr Pólice Judge of Bnrdstown. The parties were brothers-in-law, and the difficulty took place on the Gaither farm. From words they proceeded to blows, dcndly weapons were used, and Gaither was killed on the spot. Brown delivered himself up to the authorjties, was tried by three magistrales, and acquitled, much to the surprise of the community.
