Volz, Christian G.
Volz, Christian G. 108 Mills Rd., Saline ̶ Age 76, died this morning in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Born Sept. 27, 1891, in Scio Township, he was the son of Gottlieb and Fredericka Staebler Volz. On May 16, 1917, he married Lydia Visel and they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary this past year. Mr. Volz was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ of Saline and for many years was the owner and operator of Five Point Place. In later years he was the sexton of Oakwood Cemetery, Saline. Survivors include: his wife; a son, Kenneth G. Volz Sr., of Saline; two grandchildren Captain Kenneth G. Volz Jr., now serving with the Dental Corps at Bearcat, Vietnam, and Beth Ann Volz. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances, a brother, Herman, and a sister, Lydia Seitz. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bahnmiller Funeral Home, Saline, with the Rev.
