Magazines at AADL

by iralax

AADL Reference and Magazine collections at the Downtown Library have recently relocated to the third floor, along with brand new carpeting, comfortable reading chairs and several large tables with chairs. This is a great time to view the new space and browse the classic glossies and some eye-popping newer magazines. Awaiting you are treasures like The Intelligent Optimist, Interweave Knits, Hyphen, The Instrumentalist, ARTNEWS, American Archeology and Howler. Or The Advocate, The Black Scholar, Latina or Michigan Gardener might pique your interest. So if you want to see what's new in periodicals, visit AADL soon. All but the current issue may be checked out for two weeks, and you can put a copy on hold for pick-up at any branch through your AADL My Account.

What a great collection of magazines! There is definitely something for everyone!

Something interesting about Dogster is that it started as a social network/website, and then the company that published Dog Fancy purchased it and renamed the magazine after the website!

Thanks for all the hard work on keeping the layout of library as efficient and fun as possible.

I always forget that you can check magazines out. I'll have to go browse through the relocated collection the next time I'm at the library.

Lots of nice magazines. It's great we can now request issues to be sent if we can't get them in person. There are some very expensive (including international) magazines, e.g. Donna Hay's cooking magazine, that I like getting the chance to see, thanks to the library. :)

The third floor was always a bit of a ghost-town; hopefully people will make it up there now.

I LOVE the large collection of magazines available at AADL. I learn about so many new ones this way!

If it weren't for the summer game, it mighta been a whole lot longer before I'da checked out the new magazine area.

I do sort of miss the art prints being way way up on the 4th floor, in the far(thest) reaches of the 'brar' .....
