ALLIE BENTLEY

SOUTH LYON—Allie M. Bentley, 83, a lifelong resident of South Lyon, died early this morning at the West Trail Nursing Home in Plymouth following a long illness.

He was born Nov. 20, 1877, on a farm near South Lyon, the son of Oscar and Elizah Knapp Bentley. In 1903, he married Bernice M. Greer in South Lyon. She survives.

Mr. Bentley was a rural mail carrier for 43 years, was past master of Lodge No. 319, F & AM, and a life member and past patron of Entre Nous Chapter 298 of OES.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Norma and Pauline, both of Ann Arbor.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Phillips Funeral Home in South Lyon with the Rev. Ferris Woodruff officiating. The Masonic Lodge will present graveside services at the South Lyon Cemetery.
