A Michigan Stadium attendance record may be set on Nov. 22 when top-ranked Ohio State and Michigan do battle in the huge bowl which has official capacity of 101,001.
When everyone is counted for the M-OSU game - the bandsmen, the Boy Scouts, the sportswriters, the photographers and others - there could be more than the record 103,234 who were counted for the Michigan-Michigan State game in 1959.
The Michigan-Ohio State game officially became a sell-out today for the first time since 1957. A crowd of 88,804 watched the two teams in 1959, 80,414 in 1961, 48,934 in 1963, one day after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated: 77,733 in 1965, and 63,702 in 1967.
