Railroad Crossing Repairs Started

Liberty St. May Be Reopened Tomorrow

The Ann Arbor Railroad is undertaking an all-out job of repairing all of its crossings within the city limits, A. C. Hitchcock, railroad yardmaster, said today.

The city's crossings will be treated according to their needs. In many cases this will call for only minor repairs, but, in some instances, the old tracks will be torn up and new ones laid.

Hitchcock was unable to say how many other crossings will be torn up and replaced or what the cost of the project would be.

One of the major tasks undertaken is the W. Liberty St. crossing near First St. Yesterday, the crossing was closed to traffic, and it is expected to be reopened by tomorrow night. When completed, the tracks will be level with the street.
