Marian Luther Is Wed In Chapel Service

Local Girl Becomes Bride of Walter S. Lundahl

In the cool shadows of the Michigan League chapel, sprays of pink and white gladioli with gypsophila in tall vases were lighted by white tapers in cathedral candlebra for the nuptial rites at 3 o'clock this afternoon, uniting Marian Grace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill J. Luther of 708 Haven Ave., and Walter S. Lundahl, son of Mrs. Theresa Lundahl of 723 Haven Ave. and the late Mr. Lundahl.
The service was read by Dr. W. Carl Rufus of Pine Ridge Rd. and the traditional wedding music was played by Miss Dorothy Haas of Third St.
Ivory net over taffeta was chosen by Miss Luther for her bridal gown, made with puffed sleeves and a small Queen Anne collar, below which a row of taffeta buttons extended down the front of the fitted bodice to the waist. The bouffant skirt had a slight train. A band of gardenias held the bride's veil of ivory tulle reaching to fingertips, and her flowers were cream roses and gypsophila. She was given in marriage by her father.
Two Bridesmaids
The bridesmaids, Miss Margaret Ridley of Capac and Miss Hilda Angerer of Haven Ave., graduate students in the University, carried arm bouquets of larkspur and gladioli in shades harmonizing with their frocks which were similar to that of the bride and both wore white accessories. Miss Ridley was in peach-colored organza and Miss Angerer in blue organza, each having a pleated halo veil matching her dress.
Mr. Lundahl's brother, Arnold, of Alpena, assisted him as best man, and two brothers of the bride, George E. Luther and Merrill J. Luther, jr., of Haven Ave., seated the guests, about 50 being bidden to the wedding and the reception which was held at the home of the bride's parents.
Gardenia corsages and white accessories were worn by Mrs. Luther, who chose a blue and white printed chiffon for her daughter's wedding and by the mother of the bridegroom, Mrs. Lundahl, whose frock was of navy blue chiffon.
To Live Here
For going away, the bride chose a blue crepe dress with blue swagger coat and white hat, shoes, gloves and purse. The couple will motor through northern Michigan for about a week, and will live in Ann Arbor. Mr. Lundahl is studying in the University for his doctor's degree in zoology.
Among the guests from away were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lundahl of Alpena, Mrs. B. H. Scott and Miss Ina Ogleby of Detroit, Mrs. W. C. Stoner and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hendry of Monroe, and Mrs. Leo Johnson of Flint, the former Marian Angerer of Ann Arbor.
Recent bridal showers for Mrs. Lundahl included a party given by Miss Angerer and Mrs. L. C. Anderson at the latter's home on Packard St., a miscellaneous shower and tea at which Mrs. George M. McConkey was hostess at her home on Washtenaw Ave., and Mrs. Ernest Metzner's party at her home on Seventh St.
