Eugene H. Hannah, 67, of 340 Foxcroft Rd., president of the Hannah Building Co., the Hannah Development Co., and the Hannah Land Co., died this morning at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Hannah started his contracting and land development business in Ann Arbor in 1929, and had been active in these endeavors up until the time of his recent illness. Offices of the firms are located at 2310 W. Stadium.
He also was active in civic affairs, having served on the Ann Arbor Area United Fund board and as chairman of the construction division in the UF 1958 campaign. He was active in the Masons and in the local First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Hannah was born on April 14, 1904, in Edmond, Okla., a son of Philip Emsinger Hannah and Mary Josephine White Hannah. He was married to Eunice Mull Reed. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Mark H. Hannah of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. J. D. (Sandra Kay) Sullivan of Pepper Pike, Ohio, Mrs. R. Dean (Nancy Jeanne) Cunningham of Ann Arbor, and Miss Virginia Mary Hannah of Akron, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. P. H. Merryman of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers, George I. Hannah of Ann Arbor and Lawrence W. Hannah of Edmond, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eugene Holmes Hannah Memorial of the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Cancer Fund in care of Dr. John C. Nixon.
