Mulholland, Walter I.

Age 77, died Friday afternoon at his home after a long illness. Born September 15, 1889 in Superior Twp., the son of William and Susan Martin Mulholland, he married Hazel Church, September 18, 1912. She died June 11, 1959. On July 16, 1960 he married Mrs. Ortha Throop Nixon of Ann Arbor. Mr. Mulholland was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Senior Community Club of the Church. A former carpenter, he had also been employed at American Broach, retiring in 1954. He is survived by his wife, a son Lloyd K., a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Geraldine) Hanselmann, both of Ann Arbor, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Earl C. (Bernice) Quackenbush of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Paul (Alice) Wallace of Setauket, N.Y., eight grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Also surviving are, a brother, Emory Mulholland and a sister, Miss Myrtie Mulholland of Ypsilanti, several nieces and nephews including Darwin Drake of Port Huron and Leonard Drake of Dexter who made their home with Mr. Mulholland as younger men. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday from the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, the Rev. L. Burlin Main officiating. Burial to be in Dixboro Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
