Age 100, died Thursday, September 21, 1978, at the Parkview Extended Care Facility. He was born June 7, 1878 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, the son of Stephen and Jane Sizemore Stone. Mr. Stone had been a resident of Ann Arbor for 39 years, coming here from Carey, Ohio where he had resided for 40 years. He married Molly Stone in Alger, Ohio in 1914; she died March 12, 1965. Mr. Stone was a member of the Church of God and had been a farmer most of his life. Survivors include: three sons, Thomas of Knox, Indiana, James of Florida, and Jesse of Ann Arbor; a stepson, Elmer Bradley of Jackson; five daughters, Evelyn Salyer of Ann Arbor, Gladys Johnson of Ann Arbor, Nora Caudill of Chelsea, and Frona Phillips of Carey, Ohio, and Sally Wentworth of Dayton, Ohio; 31 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother Rev. Sam Stone of Carey, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two daughters and two sons. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Muehlig Chapel with Rev. Howard Bailey officiating. Burial will be made in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday.
