Long Illness Fatal To City Resident, 41
Mrs. Jane Shephard Bowsher, 41, the wife of Kent Bowsher of 1209 Birk Ave., died today at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
She was born April 21, 1915, in Valparaiso, Ind., the daughter of E. C. and Hulda S. Shephard. She moved to Pontiac with her parents at an early age. Mrs. Bowsher was graduated from Cranbrook. She belonged to the First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor.
On Dec. 23, 1937, he married Mr. Bowsher in Pontiac. The couple moved to Ann Arbor in 1938, and Mr. Bowsher joined the staff of Ann Arbor High School as a physical education instructor. They left the city in 1943 when Mr. Bowsher entered the U. S. Navy and returned in 1946. Mr. Bowsher is now with the Ford Motor Co.
Other survivors include a son, Timothy Kent Bowsher of Ann Arbor; her mother, also of Ann Arbor; a brother, Dr. Judson Shephard of Upper Arlington, O.; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Blake of Kendellville, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Muehlig Chapel, the Rev. William P. Lemmon officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park near Birmingham. Friends may call at the funeral home starting Wednesday night.
