Ypsilanti, Jan. 24, - Mrs. Caroline Y. Smith, 69, wife of R. D. Smith, 615 West Michigan Ave., this city, died Tuesday at her home, following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Smith, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Yedley, was born April 16, 1873, on a farm five miles west of here on the Saline road. She was married to Mr. Smith on April 18, 1906, and the couple have resided in or near Ypsilanti since that time.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, John E. and Robert M., both of Ypsilanti; three brothers, John Yedley, this city, Fred Yedley, Detroit, and George Yedley, Pontiac; and six sisters, Mrs. Mary Forsythe, Miss Minnie Yedley and Mrs. Emma Zimmerman, all of this city; Mrs. Kate Matthews, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Elizabeth Kister and Miss Clara Yedley, both of Detroit.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from the J. E. Moore funeral home here, and burial will be in Highland cemetery here.
