Grim Search - Sheriff's Lt. David B. Severance (behind wheel), guides a motorboat along Second Sister Lake off S. Wagner Rd. in Scio Township this morning, moments before the body of John Lee Carlton, 22, of 735 N. Maple Rd. was found. A sheriff's Marine Division officer is seated near Severance, holding a line tied to Sheriff's Department skindivers who recovered the body. Carlton went down in 30 feet of water yesterday afternoon while swimming with two teen-age companions, Sheriff Douglas J. Harvey said. Divers searched until darkness yesterday for the body and resumed the hunt on the lake this morning. (Ann Arbor News photo by Jack Stubbs)
