Coach Doherty Enters Michigan Trackmen In Two Meets

Four Runners Will Compete At New York

Balance Of Squad Will Go To Illinois Tech Relays At Chicago

Michigan's Big Ten championship track squad will be split between two competitions this weekend as Coach Ken Doherty sends his stars to the K. of C. games at Madison Square Garden in New York under the tutelage of Chet Stackhouse, freshman coach, while Ken will accompany other members of the Wolverines to the Illinois Tech relays at Chicago.

Michigan will be represented at the New York meet by Bob Ufer in the 600, Capt. Dave Matthews in the 1,000-yard races while these two will form a two-mile relay team with Ross Hume and John Roxborough as the other competitors.

In the Illinois Tech relays Michigan will be represented by a mile, two-mile and sprint medley team In addition to entrants in the special events.

Fred Alkon will compete in the 70-yard dash, Chuck Pinney in the low hurdles, Elmer Swanson in both high and low hurdles, Byerle In the high hurdles, Bob Hume and Ernie Lombardi in the mile, Segula in the pole vault and Ostroot in the shot put.

This week-end will not end the winter competition for the Big Ten champs as several will compete in the Cleveland K. of C. meet March 26th while others will be entered in the Chicago relays the same date.
