Age 82, died yesterday, April 13, 1976, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a six week illness. Born November 14, 1893 in Ann Arbor, he was the son of Patrick and Eliza Byrne Walsh. A resident of Ann Arbor his entire life, Mr. Walsh was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and a veteran of WWI, U.S. Army, having served in France and Germany, the 4th Division. He had been employed by the Ann Arbor News for many years as a linotype operator. Survivors include: two brothers, Edward F. of Ann Arbor and James A. of Midland; several nieces and nephews. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the Muehlig Chapel. A Blessing Service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Father Don McAllister officiating. This will be followed by burial at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Cemetery. A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Thomas Church or the Coronary Care Unit of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
