Ann Arbor Quarterbacks Meet May 24
It’s going to be an especially big day for Ann Arbor Quarterbacks on Tuesday, May 24.
They’ll be gathering to honor the coaches and the top senior athletes of teams that carried Michigan to unprecedented overall success during the fall and winter months — Bo Schembechler and Rob Lytle in football, John Orr and Steve Grote in basketball and Dan Farrell and Kris Manery in hockey.
The occasion is the 30th annual outing of the Ann Arbor Quarterback Club at Barton Hills Country Club.
Don Moorhead, former Michigan quarterback who still holds four varsity passing records and is regular quarterback for the British Columbia Lions, will be the toastmaster.
Michigan won the Big Ten football title and played in the Rose Bowl. The Wolverines also won the conference crown in basketball and advanced to the regional finals in the NCAA Tournament. The hockey team made it to the NCAA finals before losing to Wisconsin in overtime.
Twenty dollars covers the cost of club membership, door prizes, dinner and program. Golf is optional.
Tickets may be purchased from committeemen Bob Ufer, Don Robinson, Don Naylor, Howard Wikel, Jack Carver, Bob Lovelace and Howard King while memberships may also be purchased by mail. Checks should be made out to the Ann Arbor Quarterback Club and mailed to Don Robinson, 2311 East Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor, 48104.
