W. Emanuel Hutzel
W. Emanuel Hutzel, 84 years old, a retired Pittsfield township farmer, died yesterday afternoon at his home, 711 Oakland Ave., after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 11, 1857, in Lodi township, a son of the late Jacob and Fredericka Laubengayer. On May 23, 1888, he married Carrie A. Dold, of Pittsfield township.
He had been a resident of Washtenaw county all his life, and for the past 25 years lived in Ann Arbor. He was a member of the Bethlehem Evangelical church.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Emerson, an instructor in the Cleveland High school in St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Jacob of Freedom township, and C. Edward of Ann Arbor; three grandchildren, Robert E. of St. Louis, and Dean and Helen of Pittsfield township. Another son, Clarence E., died Aug. 8, 1931.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Muehlig chapel. The house will be announced later. The Rev. Theodore Schmale will officiate. Interment will be in Bethlehem cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after today.
