Staeblers Mark Golden Wedding

Congratulatory messages received from relatives and friends in widely scattered places throughout the United States marked the golden wedding anniversary celebrated yesterday by Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Staebler at their farm home, 2887 Newport Rd.
This beautiful stone and white frame house, a landmark overlooking the Huron river from near the north bank, was the mecca during the day for many friends, neighbors and relatives who came to express their felicitations.
Mr. Staebler, now 75 years old, has lived in this home since he was three years old. He brought Mrs. Staebler to it as a bride 50 years ago yesterday afternoon. The farm is 142 acres.
Voters of Ann Arbor township have honored Mr. Staebler with numerous elective offices. At different times he has served as justice of the peace, clerk and treasurer. He also represented the township as county supervisor for 11 years. In all, he spent 30 years in public office.
