John MacFall, 76, school traffic officer for Bach School stationed at the corner of Seventh and Jefferson Sts. since 1950, died Wednesday at his home, 204 W. Jefferson. He had been ill several months.
He was born Feb. 17, 1879, in Ballentoy county, Antrim, Ireland, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew MacFall. He came to Philadelphia from Glasgow, Scotland, as a young man and was married Aug. 28, 1907, to Annie Kirkpatrick. She survives. The couple came to Ann Arbor in 1911.
He was associated with Hoover Ball & Bearing Co. from 1911 to 1923. He worked for the University's building and grounds department from 1923 to 1950 when he retired.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church here and a member of Golden Rule Masonic Lodge No. 159.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, John E. and William P., both of Ann Arbor, five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Neil Lamont of Chicago and one nephew, John McFall of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Muehlig Chapel, the Rev. Henry Kuizenga officiating. Burial will be in Washtenong Memorial Park. Friends may call at the chapel.
