Herman Kaercher, 76, a lifelong farmer in Scio township, died Wednesday at his home where he was born, 6830 W. Liberty Rd., after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 17, 1879, a son of J. Michael and Martha Reichert Kaercher. He was married to Lydia O. Kern of Scio township on Dec. 19, 1912. She died Dec. 6, 1918. He was married to Lydia Mast of Ann Arbor on Aug. 24, 1929. She survives.
Mr. Kaercher was a life-long member of Salem Lutheran Church in Scio township.
Also surviving are a son, Robert of Ann Arbor; a granddaughter and two nieces of Ann Arbor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Muehlig Chapel, the Rev. Arthur G. Wacker officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
