Wins Oratorical Contest
Sherry Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones of 441 Hilldale Dr., won the Elks' oratorical contest and a $1,000 scholarship prize at the Elks’ state convention held in Ann Arbor. Sherry is a junior at Huron High School and a member of the symphony orchestra, the hostess committee and the varsity cheerleading squad. She is president of the youth usher board of the Second Baptist Church. On July 17 Sherry will travel to Richmond, Ind., to compete in the regional contest.
