The old school spirit is not dead on the University campus. That was proved in the pre-dawn hours Saturday when some daredevil with football on the brain scaled the U-M's 260-foot smoke stack at the power plant at Huron St. and Forest Ave. to tie to lightening rods at the top the "Go Blue Beat Moo U" sign. Startled plant employees said the sign erector had to make his way over the series of rungs on the side of the stack to reach the top. Bo Schembechler's squad did what the sign asked and beat traditional rival Michigan State 10 to 0. (News photos by Jack Stubbs)
