Funeral services were held today in Republic, Mich., for Martin Suneson, 68 years old, of Republic and Detroit, who died during the week-end in the latter city, where he was spending the winter. He had been a frequent visitor in Ann Arbor, and he and his wife were well known to a large group of Ann Arbor residents. Death was caused by heart disease, from which he had been suffering for the past several months.
Suneson was born in Sweden, but was brought to the United States by his parents when two years old. For many years he was engaged in diamond drill work in various parts of the world for the Sullivan Machinery Co. of Michigan City, Ind.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bessie Kneebone Suneson; a son, Alfred, Detroit; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Tuttle, Albany, N.Y.; three grandchildren, and two sisters.
