Age 72, passed away Saturday, August 15 at his residence following a sudden heart attack. He was born on June 28, 1898, in Millington, Mich., the son of Horace Z. and Dana E. Coverdale Wilber. On October 9, 1935, Mr. Wilber was married to Frances Gurchie in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was a member of the Congregational Church of Ypsilanti, a past commander of Barracks No. 35, veterans of W. W. I, a former member of the American Legion Post No. 19 in Akron, Ohio. Mr. Wilber was employed by Ford Motor Co., Ypsilanti Generator Plant for 14 years, retiring July 1, 1966. He was treasurer of the retired employees of Local No. 849. Survivors include: his wife; one son, William Horace Wilber of Ypsilanti; one granddaughter; five grandsons; three sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Marjorie) Kruger of Western Springs, Ill., Mrs. Elizabeth Galley of Stanford, Cal., Mrs. Helen Cain of Chatsworth, Cal. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Geer Funeral Home with the Rev. Laurence N. Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Those wishing to contribute to the memory of Mr. Wilber may do so by making their contribution to the Michigan Heart Fund. Envelopes are available at Geer Funeral Home where friends may call.
