Donald Staebler, 90, walks up to his house after tending to his cows at his farm along Plymouth Road. The 100 acres of land Staebler is selling to Washtenaw County include frontage on picturesque Frains Lake. Currently there is no public access to the 16-acre lake because the entire lake frontage is privately owned. Staebler says he could have sold the land to a developer for more than the 1.5 million the county will pay.
