When the Titanomachy took place, the titans were imprisoned deep into the lowest depths of Tartarus. After one thousand years of being captive, they had finally broken free with enough will power. They cracked the earth open and decided to cause war with the gods for making them suffer. Zeus thought the titans would be kept in Tartarus, but he thought wrong. The titans had finally found freedom. The titans swore to keep the freedom a secret from all the gods until they were ready to get their revenge. Hades knew the titans escaped because Tartarus was in the underworld, where hades lived, and the world had a crack, hades knew no one will know of this because he was the only one to live underground or near any type of ground. But he didn’t alarm any of the gods because he knew he was going to find joy out of the war that would be caused. After twenty short years of preparing, the titans singled their attack on one god, Zeus. All the titans were equally furious at Zeus, acknowledging he was the one to imprison them in Tartarus. While Zeus was on his way to Mount Olympus to shower in his glory, the titans came from below and over powered him. Twelve titans versus one god. Zeus knew it wouldn’t end well but the titans knew better not to let him escape even if he tried. They circled him and all grabbed him with piercing nails. The titans then threw him into Tartarus and left him there ready to capture the next god which was Poseidon. Once the titans left hades came to Zeus and teased him to let him out. “I shall strike a deal. If you release me from this hell, I shall do one favor, whatever you please.” Zeus said to hades. “then it is a deal we shall strike. But, I won’t release you just yet.” Hades agreed in advance. As Poseidon was having a daily meal made by Amphitrite, the titans sprung to him and all took him to Tartarus aggressively. Poseidon only worried for his family but on the other hand, Zeus was scared for the humans. The titans have come for revenge so they weren’t going to very nice about it. Hades was ready to strike a deal with Poseidon as well until he found out that his wife was stolen. Infuriated, Hades let out Zeus and Poseidon out of Tartarus. “the thing I request from you, is to get my wife back, now go!” Hades commanding them both. Knowing when hades isn’t very pretty when he’s angry, both left to fight off the titans. With just Zeus’s power, the titans stood a chance against Zeus but Zeus and Poseidon was too much power for them. They fought and after just three hours, hades decided to help fight. The titans were utterly defeated and sent back to Tartarus. Hades reclaimed his wife, Poseidon went back to his family, and Zeus returned on his way to Mount Olympus. When hades went back to the underworld, he made sure to strengthen the lock on Tartarus making it practically impossible to break open again.
