J. Herman Greve, 68, of 320 S. Seventh St., died yesterday at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Greve, who was employed at the business office for the University for 41 years, was born on June 12, 1885, a son of Joseph and Caroline Schlecht Greve.
On Oct. 17, 1907, he was married to Miss Mary Wheaton in Ann Arbor. He was a member of the Memorial Christian Church and for more than 27 years, served as financial secretary of the church, deacon and secretary of the Sunday School. He also was a past master of Fraternity Lodge No. 262, F & AM.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Clifford of Arlington, Va.; two brothers, Albert of Ann Arbor and Robert G. of North Lake; a sister, Mrs. Oscar Stierle of Chelsea; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Muehlig Chapel, the Rev. George W. Barger officiating. Graveside services will be held by officers of Fraternity Lodge at the Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
