It was Monday. My favorite day. This was the day that Elijah and I would go exploring. We would be skipping school today, but it was worth it. Trust me, we had great ideas planned.

I woke up right on time. 3:30 in the morning. We wanted to see the galactic sunrise. I took the quickest shower I’ve ever taken. It lasted 3 minutes long. I got out of the shower I got dressed, brushed my teeth and headed down stairs. Walking downstairs was the hard part. I needed to be careful, my dog would bark at me if I even made a sound louder than a fly fart. I stepped on a chip.

WOOF WOOF WOOF!!! BARK!!!

I ran out of there as fast as. I grabbed my flying bike. My “Flike” if you will. You shouldn’t, it’s the worst name in the history of the galaxy. I should know. It was in our textbooks at school, “The History of The Galaxy”. Back to the story.
As I biked past the park, I noticed the sunset. I focused on it. It… was… beautiful. The city looked like it was on fire. The sky was so red and pink and wonderful. I thought it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. I was already late but all I could think about was the sunset. I sat down on the sidewalk and just stared. I was transfixed.

I’m guessing I was there for about 5 minutes doing nothing, but staring. I was very late now, but I assumed that Elijah would be too.

The sun was almost up now, when I looked to my left.

“AAAHHHHH!!!”

“Hey brother. What’s up?”, Elijah said.

“When the freak did you get here?!?!”

“Beautiful sunset, isn’t it?”

“How long have you been sitting here?!?’’

“Nevermind that, we’ve got places to be, places to go. Onward! Let us go!”

“Let’s seize the day! Let us have this day go down in history as the best day ever!”

“Yes!”

“We shall do what we want!”

“We shall go where we want!”

“Let us find us find ourselves in the death of our loved ones!”

“What?!?!”

“I don’t know!!!”

“Shall we adventure?!?”

“Goodbye steady lifestyle you are nothing to me! We shall do it all today and today we shall do it all!”

“Onward!”, we both yelled.

The sky looked like it was on fire now. Just like a movie, we turned our Flikes to flying mode and flew towards the sun. We made it about 100 feet before we realized that we had to go North-West not East. I slammed on the brakes and flew in the other direction. It was like a dream, flying through the sky while the sun was rising behind me. A feeling that could only truly feel new once. That time was now. It was great.

Flikes have this special feature that nobody knows about. It’s called impact control. It absorbs the impact by taking small bounces on the ground when dropped from small distances in the air. I modified mine to be able to use that special feature from higher distances. The highest I can drop my Flike from is 20 feet in the air. One of my greatest accomplishments.

As I flew down Elijah’s winding road I flicked a knob and turned the mode to BICYCLE. I suddenly stopped flying from 15 feet in the air to biking on the streets in a matter of seconds. I bounced up and down for about 30 seconds before I started to burn my rubber on the pavement.

Once I drove into his driveway I looked behind me  and he wasn’t there.

“Jesus Christ. Again!?”

Elijah was know to forget where we were going and go in the different direction. I walked into his house expecting to see his parents and brother. They were not there. I was greeted very nicely by his dog Lacey. She jumped up on my chest and licked my face. She has always liked me.

I sat down without anything to do. GGRRRGGGRRR, my stomach grumbled. There was only one thing I could do… make pancakes! I put on some music and got out the ingredients and started my masterpiece.

I snooped around for other extra ingredients to make the pancakes fantastic. I found chocolate chips and blueberries. As my eyes skimmed across the cupboard I came across spicy pepper flakes. I didn’t even think to hesitate to put those in a special pancake for Elijah.

After about 30 minutes of straight up jammin’ out and cooking some cakes, Elijah walked through the door.

“HAHA! Now it is I that has surprised you!”, I said while lunging towards him.

“I’m not surprised.”, he seemed relaxed.

“What? Why?”

“I knew you were going to go back to my house, so I kept on biking into the city where I picked up a couple of ingredients for making pancakes!”

“I’m flattered, but I’ve already made some”

“What?”

“Come over here, I’m almost done.”

I walked Elijah over to his kitchen.

“How did you know where everything is?”

“Shhh. Please, no questions”

“Well alright. I’ll make the rest you can just sit down.”

I walked over to the living room and sat down. I got out my phone and opened YouTube and began watching to my heart’s delight. After about 10 minutes, I realized that I had to make Elijah’s special pancake. I got up quickly and ran into the kitchen.

“I can take it over from here.”

“No, it’s totally fine. I can finish up.”

“No, I insist.”

“No, really, it’s fine.”

“Let me cook the pancakes!!!”

“Jesus!. Ok, go ahead!”

I took the pepper flakes that hid in the cupboard out. They were in their, just as I expected. I laid the batter down on the grill and sprinkled the flakes on. It cooked for about 2 minutes on both sides. I was done. My masterpiece was finally finished.

“Breakfast is ready!” I yelled.

I brought in the pancake plate to the dining room. It was time. I was ready. Right as I was about to put the plate down on the table, the door was busted down making a HUGE crash! We fell to the ground instantly.

“It’s the Galactic Police! We gotta get out of here!”, Elijah whispered to me.

I didn’t know how to react, so I just said “Ok”.

We ran out of the back door as fast as we possibly could. We grabbed our Flikes and we flew down the street as fast as we could. We biked for about 15 minutes before we stopped and rested at a local park.

“What was that all about?!?!?!”, I ask Elijah.

“It’s so stupid. My parents are a little late on paying their rent.”

“Why did they send in a whole freaking SWAT team?!?”

“The Galactic Police make pretty drastic actions when something very little goes wrong. It’s so dumb!”

We sat in silence for a little bit, trying to catch our breath. Both of our hearts were pounding extremely fast.

“AAHHH!!!”, Elijah yelled.

I freaked out! “WHAT!?!?”

It was just a simple Drulg. They’re harmless slug type creatures that migrated from the Milky Way 2.0, just next door. They hated them there, so they sent them on a ship over here. We love them here! Other than Elijah. Elijah hates them. He started panicking. He reached down and quickly flung it off. It got stuck in a tree, but not to worry, Drulgs are very good climbers.

“Explain to me why you hate Drulgs again?”

“I told you, I have no idea! They’re just… weird and creepy!”

“Well, alright.”

At this point, Elijah has been through some exciting stuff today, so he just lied down.

Then suddenly a dark hole appeared out of nowhere!

“AAHHH!”, we both yelled.

We grabbed our Flikes and tried to run away, but we quickly got sucked in! It seemed like we were being born again. It opened up on a dark room, where we suddenly fell down. Our Flikes dented everywhere. As we got up we didn’t speak at all, just in case something was there. I found a door, so I signaled Elijah to follow. I slowly opened the door and didn’t expect what we were about to experience. It was a bar. It had multiple different types of space juices and a very rare drink called Galactic Guava. It was filled with aliens and human sized slug type creatures. Something started crawling over to me. My vision suddenly went black.

After a while, I finally woke up. I woke up to something wonderful and weird and interesting. I could tell you what it was, but that is a story for another time.
