Mr. Helber, who lived at 815 S. State St., was 55 years old.
Born in Saline Jan. 29, 1887, a son of the late Eugene J. and Mary Cowie Helber, he had lived in Ann Arbor since coming here with his parents at the age of 10, and attended the Ann Arbor schools. His father established the Washtenaw Post in 1894.

In 1917 he joined his father in publication of the Washtenaw Post, continuing as publisher after his father's death in 1922 until selling the newspaper in 1926. Since then he had been in the real estate and first-mortgage business, and was a member of the Ann Arbor Real Estate Board.
Surviving are his wife; his brother, Louis, of Ann Arbor; and a sister, Mrs. Bernard Bialk, Detroit.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Muehlig chapel. Rev. E. C. Stellhorn will officiate, and burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
