DeFries, Mrs. Edward J. (Mary Pauline)

Age 93, died this morning in the Anna Botsford Bach Home, where she had lived for the past six years. A lifelong Ann Arbor resident, Mrs. DeFries formerly resided at 408 Second Street for many years. She was born September 28, 1874, in Webster Twp., the daughter of William and Fredericka Schlanderer Benz, married Edward J. DeFries in Ann Arbor and he died in 1936. She was a member of the Bethlehem United Church of Christ and the Women's Association of the church. Surviving are three nieces: Mrs. Theodore (Ruth) Koepplin, Mrs. Louise St. Clair, both of Royal Oak, Mrs. Margaret Earl of Long Beach, Calif., and four nephews: Herbert Benz, Raymond Benz, Harold Benz, all of Ann Arbor, and Carl Benz of Adrian. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Ernest R. Klaudt officiating. Burial to be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel beginning Thursday noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem United Church of Christ.
