Begins Battle of the Books; Five-year-old David DeLong looks in awe at more than 80 textbooks he'll use before graduating from college. That graduation date is a long way off, because David enrolled in kindergarten today at Pattengill School. Parents might be awed at the cost of the books. A spokesman from Ulrich's Book Store says that these books cost between $375 and $450, and that's for textbooks only. Outside reading, paper, pencils and other miscellaneous items aren't included. David is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. DeLong, Jr., of 2805 Brockman Blvd.
