Music From Found Sounds

Curtis Glatter is a musician who specializes in improvization, composition, and making music from found sounds. Learn about his process and tools, how to make music from junk, and get your chance to try out some of the techniques. Curtis will be at the Downtown Library on Sat., Aug. 7, 1 -3 PM, to demonstrate to all ages how he makes music from junk.

Curtis has just let me know if you bring your laptop to the event there will be time after the program for some one-on-one instruction.

The "found sounds" referred to in this blog post from 2010, were percussive sounds made on old or discarded (found) objects. These sound were recorded, digitally manipulated and then sequenced into a piece of electronic music. Thanks for your interest in Library programming!
