EAST ANN ARBOR - Peter Paul Estermyer, sr., 72, a retired electrician, died early Saturday at his home at 3251 Springbrook St. here.
Mr. Estermyer was born July 19, 1884, at Beaver Falls, Pa., a son of Louis J. and Mary Mageleane Estermyer, and was married to Frances L. Dickson on June 24, 1910, at Toledo, O. She died April 7, 1951, after the couple had settled at Saline in 1920. A daughter, Mrs. Luella Von Sossan, also preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 1945.
On Jan. 10, 1953, he was married to Ethel Hoffmeyer Dickson. She survives.
Mr. Estermyer was proprietor of the Saline Electric Shop from 1920-1929, and later for 20 years was employed by the A. F. Smith & Sons, Inc., at Ypsilanti, retiring last February because of injuries suffered while working.
He was an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 252, to which he had belonged since 1936. He was a member of the local's executive board for a number of years and later was chairman of that group's arbitration board. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Besides his wife, survivors are four sons, Peter P., jr., Louis E. and Robert James, all of Ypsilanti, and Fred A. of Belleville; and three daughters, Mrs. Erma Grace of Ypsilanti, Mrs. Lucille C. Abbeg of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Vera F. Grace of Belleville.
Other survivors are three step-daughters, Mrs. Ellen Schultz of Toledo and Mrs. Shirley A. McCalla and Mrs. Bernadene M. Schairer of Ann Arbor. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Francis Church in Ann Arbor with burial in Oakwood Cemetery at Saline. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday.
